Refund Policy


WE ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A REFUND OR REPLACEMENT IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND. FOR CHANGE OF MIND WE OFFER AN EXCHANGE OR CREDIT NOTE ONLY. WHERE A PRODUCT HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM YOU CAN CHOOSE A REFUND OR EXCHANGE. 

MAJOR FAILURE IS DESCRIBED AS : 

* a problem that would have stopped someone from buying the item if they had known about it.  * is unsafe  * is significantly different from the sample or description  * doesn’t do what we said it would, or what you asked for and can’t be easily fixed.  

(As teak is a natural timber on occasion the wood can crack more than what is usually allowable. Cracking of timber that we deem structural will not be a consideration of major failure as this is not something that is a fault of the manufacturer or supplier. We will reserve our right to replace products that have large cracks that we deem could affect the structure of the product.)

REMEDIES FOR MAJOR PROBLEMS: 

You have the right to reject the product and choose a refund or repair.  Alternatively, you can choose to keep the item and we will compensate you for any drop in value. 

REMEDIES FOR MINOR PROBLEMS:  

We will repair the item within a reasonable time. If it is not repaired in a reasonable time you can choose an exchange or replacement.  Alternatively, you can choose to keep the item and we will compensate you for any drop in value.

(Minor cracks in teak furniture "Checking" are not considered a minor OR major fault. These cracks are mostly found in the end pieces of wood. Eg: Tops of chairs, legs, ends of arms. This is part of the natural aging process of the timber as it settles into its new environment. This does not affect the furniture structure or durability and is not a product fault)

Please keep your proof of purchase—e.g. your receipt. 

(If you are located more than 100km from our business or are interstate we may when reasonable advise you on how to repair the problem.)

FOR CHANGE OF MIND WE OFFER A CREDIT NOTE OR EXCHANGE ONLY ON ALL PRODUCTS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CLEARANCE OUTLET. 

(Where a customer places an order online and selects “contact us for delivery quote” at check out prior to obtaining a freight quote and wishes to cancel their order upon receiving a freight quote we will issue a refund less a restocking fee to cover merchant fees incurred of 3.5% of the total order.)

OUR RETURNS POLICY FOR CHANGE OF MIND AND FAULTY PRODUCTS IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

  • Valid for original purchaser only
  • The product must be in perfect saleable condition
  • Must have original receipt of purchase
  • The customer is responsible for all transport costs associated with a change of mind (when approved) transport of Faulty goods will be at the expense of the teak place.
  • Major Failure of product within 6 months of purchase. 
  • Transport damages must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. (Note: Indah Living will not be held liable for any damage to products in customer-arranged freight. As the products ship fully assembled we recommend the use of professional removalists.)
  • All floor stock items sold must be thoroughly inspected and customer approved before collection. Any faults found not related to manufacturing will be assumed to be out of the control of the teak place.
  • We reserve the right to repair or replace the item, if a repair or replacement is available to you and you choose a refund a charge of 3.5% over the purchase amount and all transportation costs incurred for the return of goods will be deducted from the original purchase amount.
  • All warranty claims must be assessed before approval. You may be required to submit photographs of fault. 
  • The warranty is applicable only when proper product care as explained on our teak care page has been applied.
  • Please Note that our warranty on Folding Dining Chairs is only valid bearing loads of no more than 85 kilograms.
  • Please Note that our warranty on Fixed Dining Chairs is only valid bearing loads of no more than 140 kilograms. 
  • For any goods with Minor defects we reserve the right to offer a partial refund, replacement or exchange. 

  OUR RETURNS POLICY FOR FAULTY MERCHANDISE EXCLUDES: CLEARANCE STOCK HAS NO WARRANTY AGAINST DEFECTS OUTSIDE OF 14 DAYS. WE CAN NOT GUARANTEE WE WILL HAVE THE SUPPLIES TO FACILITATE A REPAIR. 

  • Original receipt must be sighted to confirm conditions of sale as clearance sale items includes factory seconds stock which are reduced due to known defects. (Any defects will be listed on the order and receipt prior to purchase. In some circumstances customers may be required to sign a copy of their invoice indicating agreement of sale terms) 

For Any Products that require refund or exchange due to major failure must be made within 12 months of purchase date. . (Excludes any items purchased with known defects, floor stock and clearance sale items where the discount is greater than 50% off RRP)  

Please Note: All natural wood products have a tendency to shrink, expand and move in the sun and rain. Please expect about a 3% movement (shrink, expand, bowing, movement) in your teak furniture which will appear naturally. As teak is a natural timber on occasion the wood can crack more than what is usually allowable. Cracking of timber will not be a consideration a major failure.
